SNAP Presentation to Special Education Coordinators
On October 18, 2007, Special Education Coordinators representing Morgan County, Decatur, and Hartselle School Systems were introduced to the project in a joint briefing. They committed to exploring ways that the schools could assist.

SNAP Morgan County Volunteer Firefighter Meeting
A SNAP update and progress presentation was given to the Morgan County Volunteer Firemen Association on September 11, 2007. This was in follow up to the March 13 presentation at which time the 22 individual fire department units across Morgan County voted unanimously to support SNAP.

SNAP Presentation to Morgan County Cattlemen's Association Meeting
On September 6, 2007 SNAP was presented to the Morgan County Cattlemen`s Association in a joint meeting with the Morgan County Farmer`s Federation. The presentation and following discussion stimulated interest and individual offers of support for the playground.

SNAP Presentation to American Legion Post 52
On September 6, 2007, a SNAP representative met with the members of American Legion Post 52 to familiarize them with the project.

SNAP Quail Creek "Lunch-N-Learn" Photographs

The young lady with special needs is Abby Martin from Priceville (5 years old) with her mom, Selina from Cave Springs Baptist Church.

On August 10, 2007 at 7 p.m. there will be a concert at the Sparkman Civic Center featuring The Sly Groove Band, JD Moss & Susan Hines. Admission is a donation to SNAP.

Hot Dog Wagon & Car Wash to benefit SNAP
On July 20 & July 21, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hartselle Wal-Mart there will be a fundraiser event with a Hot Dog Wagon. In addition, on Saturday there will be a car wash to benefit SNAP from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

SNAP to Receive Donation from RFCU
On June 29, 2007 at 9 a.m. there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the 20th Redstone Federal Credit Union location in Hartselle, Alabama. During the ceremony, SNAP will be presented a check from RFCU’s Interim President, Mike Goodman.

Carwash & Cookout to Benefit SNAP
On June 22nd & June 23rd, 2007 at the Hartselle Wal-Mart, the Alabama Cattlemens Association and other Vendors are donating food for a fund raiser for SNAP from 10-5. There will also be a car wash to benefit SNAP from 8-5 on Saturday.

SNAP Depot Days Down Memory Lane Presentation
SNAP was the featured presentation at "Down Memory Lane,"  a special event on September 10, 2007 during the Depot Days festival week in Hartselle. The event centered around the Civitan, Kiwanis, Lions and Rotary Clubs in Hartselle and recognized their unprecedented union to construct SNAP. The Rotary Club was particularly recognized on its 70th year by each of the other clubs and the Historical Society donating to SNAP in honor of this milestone anniversary.

Construction of Swing Set Facility in Progress
Clif Knight, Hartselle Enquirer The long-awaited construction of the Special Needs Accessible Playground (SNAP) of Morgan County has begun in Hartselle's Sparkman Park.

A concrete finishing crew put down a permanent 2,000 square foot pad for a special needs swing set last week. The pad is located at the southeast corner of the civic center and will serve as the foundation for a smooth, colorful rubberized finish surface on which the swing set will be installed.
The Dawson Company is the general contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed by May 1, 2008.

On Saturday, November 10th, 2007 over $250 was raised for SNAP of Morgan County with the help of one special little girl.  Six-year-old special needs child, Clara Miller, gave up gifts on her birthday in lieu of receiving donations for SNAP of Morgan County.
