Welcome to The John Mark Stallings Special Needs Accessible Playground of Morgan County (SNAP).

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a smile on the face of a child, and nothing would mean more to a child with special needs than to have a boundless playground.

Thank you for visiting us at SnapPlayground.org.  We hope that you will take the time to discover what our community accomplished to put a smile on an estimated 2500 children in Morgan County alone who are restricted from playing on standard playground equipment.

We changed that with our million dollar boundless playground with the support many donors.

The John Mark Stallings SNAP boundless playground includes equipment and walkways, which allow children with special needs to have an environment that is safe and 100% handicapped accessible right here in our community and we invite you to visit.

Thanks to all who so generously contributed financially and with in-kind services to bring this amazing playground to a reality.

One need only to witness the excitement and smiles of children playing in the facility to agree that almost ten years effort and one million dollars cash and in-kind services expenditure were well invested.

Most importantly, the facility is all-inclusive, permitting extensive interactive play opportunities for children with and without disabilities.  Mutual acceptance, social well-being, mental and physical development are promoted.

The “Essence of SNAP”, below, as presented to the SNAP Committee in early 2007 by Project Manager, Bob Francis, has now been fulfilled.

“I believe that the preliminary video by Innovative Advertising, presented at our meeting yesterday, captures the essence of the SNAP project – my how compelling. I left that meeting, as I`m sure you did, humbled and honored to be a small part of such an overwhelmingly compassionate initiative.
As I reflect on events leading us to this point, I cherish my association with each of you and the group comradeship that has evolved. Each has played a vital role in bringing the project toward maturity. In abstract, I picture our individual faces fading and being replaced by those of smiling and happy children, made possible by sacrifice of your time, talent and energy. Surely, God also smiles and blesses these efforts.
Thank you for joining hearts and hands in this worthy venture.”
